Col. Hiram Abbus Greever (1806-1882) was father of James Scott Greever, CSA, who served as captain of Company D in the 48th Virginia Regiment but is listed as a CSA general in some places including his obituary (perhaps militia) but I find no record of it. He enlisted as a 24-year-old teacher from Emory & Henry College. He was out on sick leave with typhoid fever in spring of 1862 and left service.
