Jan. 18th 1864 that relates a steamer being stranded and wrecked at Lockwood’s 14 miles below a few days since. Men were sent down. Another gun busted killing Private M. Clam C “A” and wounding slightly Capt. Russell Co. “G” Some things were saved – vessel burned.
